America refines menu, service as it celebrates one year

Opening a restaurant — particularly a one many might call “upscale” in a small town — comes with a learning curve.

Bill Ledger, president and CEO of Ripon Restaurant Group, dealt with these problems in spades over the past year, as he helped bring America Restaurant out of its infancy.

But, as the restaurant celebrates its first anniversary at the corner of Watson and Seward streets, Ledger believes he and the managers of the restaurant have answered those questions — and are ready to make the eatery even more appealing as it moves forward.

“We have learned a lot,” Ledger said. “We understand the importance of great food at a great price in a great environment. We will continue to listen and improve.”
